Scholarship Application
The 2024 scholarship award amount is $750.

This basic form collects applicant information. A 1-4 page essay is required. Applicants will be judged on their essay, level of music involvement, and plans for continuing Mr. Wareing’s legacy of music and service.
The application form can be completed electronically. The form and survey must be mailed to apply@wareingscholarship.org. You will receive an e-mail confirming your application within a day or two. If you do not receive this confirmation, please contact us.
The application timeline is January 1st – March 15th. Selection will made by in late March.
Music Scholarship Qualifications
Eligible students must be attending or have attended Weber High School in Pleasant View, Utah or any high school located in the following Idaho counties:
- Bingham
- Bonneville
- Butte
- Jefferson
- Madison
Applicants must use the award toward their first academic year of post-secondary education (enrollment must begin within 2 academic years of the award) and be seeking a degree or certification in music – including, but not limited to, Music Education, Music Performance, Music Therapy, Music (BA), and/or a related field deemed appropriate by the Committee. The applicant’s primary performing area can be brass, woodwinds, strings, or vocal.
Being limited to those from only a few high schools who will beginning their pursuit of a music degree or certification, there will not be a high number of applicants. All qualified applicants should apply!
Scholarship winners must write an acceptance / thank you letter to the Scholarship Committee and Mr. Wareing’s family and provide a profile photo for this web site before scholarship funds will be distributed. Payment of scholarship funds will be made to the institution of choice before the first term of enrollment.
